Lita Rossana Ford (also called Lita Ford, is an American musician, singer and guitarist born in Britain. She was a lead guitarist in The Runaways, a hard-rock group made up of girls from the 1970s. Their punk rock music and provocative lyrics helped them get noticed by the rock community. The group did not have an enormous following in the United States. However, their fame grew internationally, particularly in Japan. Ford was able to enjoy a long and successful career as a solo performer after the band split together in 1979. After taking vocal lessons she launched her debut solo album, 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of 'Dancin"On The Edge'. The two albums didn't receive much success and Ford just vanished from the rock world for a few years. The smash-hit album "Lita" was launched by Ford in 1988. Both the single "Kiss me Deadly" and ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" were big hits. Unfortunately, her popularity was short-lived and she remained absent from the world of music for a number of decades. The release of Black in 1995 was followed by a fifteen-year delay for the album 'Wicked Wonderland. The year 2016 brought the release of her latest studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
